What happens to a hydraulic top link when a winch pulling a large log ( weight ) is applied?
Does it extend??
What about plowing snow in reverse and the blade gets hung up..... does it extend ?

Valves and seals and hoses all have limits. Sure the pressures increase on those components when loads are applied to them. So what breaks first.? Something hydraulic or the tractor top link attachment point?. Hydraulic fluid is incompressible , but things can fail. But then so can a jackscrew or attachment points.

The hydraulic top link is locked by fluid in both directions. It will not collapse nor extend. That is unless something breaks, as James said, but that is not at all likely. I have both a blade and a winch you will not have any trouble. In fact you will love a hydraulic top link.
