Which One do you want to know about?
I was torn between starting a new thread for this new grapple OR just mixing it into the compact Wicked Grapple thread. Finally, I decided on a new thread for this NEW ANIMAL!!!!

I'll start by describe the Wicked Utility Grapple since I can't post any photos. :confused2:
I do have some computer generated engineered drawings that I'll share when TBN returns the photo uploading luxury to us!

Three sizes will be offered. 52", 73" and 84". Dual Lids...I haven't talked to Ted about it, but I think the 52" should be a single lid.
We're projecting the 73" model to weigh in at about 650 pounds, so that means the 52" under 600. Very manageable for Mega Compacts and simply IDEAL for Utility Tractors!! :cool2:

At a glance, it looks a lot like our compact models because we're sticking with the laser cut holes for weight reduction and style points.

We'll be using 10" stroke cylinders to obtain excellent clamping force and a 43" to 44" wide opening, since the grapple will be rated for tractors up to around 90hp.

The lids and vertical end tines will maintain the Wicked sharp design.
Since the target machine size is larger, we'll use triangular gussets for end tine reinforcement.....but.....could we settle on simple, normal gussets for our new Wicked Grapple? NO, OF COURSE NOT!!
We're adding the signature Wicked touch to them by laser cutting serrated saw teeth for Xtreme root grubbing and vine ripping!!

Another unique Wicked standard feature will be bolt on serrated plates that will attach between the front tines. Wicked, sharp saw teeth, angled into a point for shearing!

This will be a Utility Grapple like no other!!!

How does it sound so far?

Can't wait to see some finished pics. Might be too heavy for my LS, but still sounds nice.

I think that I would sacrifice a reduction in lift capacity, with heavier grapple, to get the wider jaw opening for our LS XR4046HC. The 84", dual lid grapple on our NH TL100A weighs almost 900lbs. but, that tractor can lift over 4000lbs. Grapple on the LS would be used for picking up brush and trimmed tree limbs so, wider opening would be welcomed. The LS FEL capacity is 2500 at the pins so, a 600 lb. grapple would still result in nearly a ton of capacity for our application.

Looking forward to seeing progress on your new Wicked Utility grapples.

I'm actually glad you recognize that not all of us have compacts. I may not have a full grown utility tractor but at 8,000lbs plus FEL = ~11,000lbs and 75HP sure ain't a compact.

Plus if I get a grapple it will mostly be picking up boulders, not many roots in the high desert. I'm trying real hard to justify getting one of those sexy beasts and not just a grapple on my existing rock bucket.

My JD BH weights in at 18,500# and I was worried about getting such a light AG tractor. Until I happened upon this place I had no idea so many people put attachments on lawn mowers.....:tractor:

It's been recognized. Our compact tractor customers outnumber those with utility tractors, so we first came up with the perfect grapple for Compact Tractors. The results have been amazing...better than expected.

I've been reluctant to recommend it for utility tractors like yours even though we've had numerous calls from customers with utility tractors that want a Wicked Grapple.
They've demanded a Wicked Grapple, even purchased a Wicked Grapple, defying our recommendations.
No problems reported. The feedback has been positive, but we want to make the perfect Utility Tractor Grapple with no worries or regrets during or after the sale!
That perfect grapple is in process and we are confident that the results will be spot on!

Hope they proliferate and ya'll become rich(er). I was just thinking, my mind wonders sometimes, I hope some liberal does not see all those black, sleek, sexy life threatening grips of death. They will be scared and name them 'assault' tractors and call them military or some other word that invokes fear for them and try to ban them from the public saying that a person should not have such power. For the love of god, think of the children! They will talk of limiting hydraulic flow rates and limits for openings, maybe limit the number of cylinders. You can have one cylinder but not two. Other organizations may call it a tractor grab. Nobody that gets social security should have that much power the liberals shall say....

OK, that may be a little to far....

Well if we ever have a "zombie" problem, a good grapple would come in handy for "racking and stacking" em:D

These show the Wicked plates bolted in. The outermost are shown without plates, which is likely how the 73" and 84" models will be shipped.

Yep, and "they" will be calling "grapple free zones". :)
