If you're near northern Calif. or southern Oregon and want a box scraper, check this out

Gannon 4x2 Box Scrapper

I already have a Gannon AND the Case adapter/hitch, and I STILL almost bought it.

At this price, you may ALREADY be too late... Steve

Oh my groceries! If that ad is legit, I'd be on my way to buy it right now. But like you said, it's probably already gone at that price. Why don't I ever find deals like that close to me?

Wow- that Case top and tilt plus (other stuff)?? is a trip
That is a STEAL from the post looks like they had it hooked up to a maybe a Case AGRI KING 930-970??
With all the hydraulics and rippers and it looks to be virtually new unbelievable!!

Does sound too good to be true, but I just checked and the ad's still up. At least it's not one of those CL ads with a FACTORY picture... Steve

I have that exact same Case setup, came off a Case 530 tractor - fits the old 580's that had a subframe mounted hoe. If I've done it recently, it takes about 30 minutes to remove the hoe and put on the TnT.

Also, with the subframe setup you have top, tilt, and the lift is set up just like a loader - power up, power down, and/or float. But NO POSITIONING control like a normal 3ph. Controls include one extra remote. Perfect for hydraulic rippers.

Still, the combo of front bucket and Gannon with hydraulic rippers can move a crapload of material - I used mine to do a 200 foot square push-out, moved approx. 2500 cubic yards of dirt in 3 days. A few side hill passes with rippers down, then rippers up - drive the bucket in deep going downhill til it's full, roll it out and into float while dropping the box blade with some power down, then full box into float, all the while with my heel on the differential lock. Occasionally had to lift loader bucket slightly for traction.

Get to bottom of pushout, lift/dump bucket, then just as tractor started to break over the hill, pop the box up, let up on differential lock rolling straight down the hill, drive around to the top and repeat.

C'mon, SOMEBODY on the west coast needs to go look at this :D

That looks like about $1000 worth of hydraulics not to mention the iron.
I am confused, however, in that I don't see what operates the rockshaft. Is the black vertical member in the first photo the rockshaft cylinder?

James, I was sorely tempted but I'm kinda recovering from buying a 50 foot manlift (tree maintenance, etc) and I don't really NEED it - plus that's about a 300 mile round trip for me to check out a (maybe) scam. Next best thing for me is if someone here can get a deal.

npalen - I've not used the term "rockshaft" in that way - but if you mean ripper control, then yes. When that cylinder is closed, rippers are down and locked with a sort of "over center" linkage.

Rippers are held in their individual slots in the rotating box beam by "mil spec bobby pins" that keep one of 3 notches on each ripper shank locked in place in its slot. When I did that pushout several years ago I had all rippers in the deepest position, gave me 6-8 inches of penetration before the cutting edge touched the ground.

Doesn't always mean much, but the ad's still there... Steve

This is a steal and an half for sure. I just bought the same model in the 80" version and it was $3500.
Somebody buy this thing quick!!!

If I was with 150 miles of it I'd e on my way with trailer in tow. Got both my woodsplitter & brush hog that way. Sent a text ~5:30 AM saying I'm on my way with cash in hand to buy. Hooked up the trailer, drove through the ATM, fueled up and started driving.

A half hour into the brush hog trip the guy calls and says he still has it. My response was I'll be there in 2 hours to get it.
An hour into the woodsplitter trip the seller responded to my text that they would only hold it until noon. I sent back I'll be there by 10.

Both were great buys

If that scraper isn't gone by now I'd be shocked!
