Does anyone have a plan for a homemade storage method for the PD25? Or any post hole auger? I don't feel like buying a flimsy stand.

Below, video I made of my B2620, with a PD25 & 2 foot auger, planting trees.

Lots of answers for this. This what I did, cost under $20, 10 years ago.

2-4x4s in the ground cut to the proper height after they were in the ground.

2-saddles for the top of the 4x4s to hold the 4x4 cross beam.

Very easy, takes about an hour and you get to use your PHD to dig the holes for the posts.

These were the first 2 holes that I dug with my PHD.

Oh, and not with the 18" auger that is on there in the picture, but a 6" auger that I also have. ;)

Thank you...great Idea. I'll need to put mine indoors..in my shop.

Curious, how do you attach the auger to the tractor..and lift the auger over this stand?

You do not lift the auger over, you lift the auger and pull out the cross beam out of the saddles.

Typical hitch-unhitch takes 5-6 minutes. It's easy, no heavy lifting involved.

If you look (search) there are a few guys that have copied this system other than modified it for a rolling cart.

To determine the height, just have your PHD fully raised and mark for the top of your cross beam to be 2" below that.

Good luck.;)

For indoor storage, I just bolted some angle iron to my rafters and hang it with tie down straps. Eye bolts would probably work also, but I had some scrap angle lying around so I went with that. I'll try to post some pics later.

If you get time to do some searching on the net, you should run across several type of indoor ideas. I've seen a few swing away hangers or sliding hangers , that's my plans for building a indoor hanger. It allows you to swing the auger out away from the wall to hook and unhook it from the tractor and then swing it over against the wall out of the way for storing. Sort of like a mini jib crane.

I have mine sitting on a wood bracket mounted to the front of my storage rack. with a safety rope to keep it there and compact so I can walk past it. I take the boom off and set it next to it on the shelf. It's only one pin to hook it back up. I back the tractor up to it. Make the connections then take the rope off before I drive away.

I had an eye bolt welded to the top of the bend on mine and hang it from a tree branch if I'm going to be using it quite a bit, or from a rafter with chain when I'm not. I like the idea of the jib crane though but I don't get to use it that much to spend that kind of time or brain effort to build one.

There was a whole thread here on how creative people got myself included. If I can find my picture it should help you out.
