I am in our local baseball bird for youth ball. We have 3 fields. I am the director so in charge of maintenance. Basically we leave the majority up to the coach playing to rake it and like it. We have a nail drag and a screen drag that work well for day to day during the season. But we get a lot of stone that comes up after rains. I normally hand rake once a week if it needs it. I have a Deere 2210 and was thinking about buying a rake for it. Will it pull the stone into piles or will they mainly go through the tines? Anything else I should consider instead? I'm paying myself so I can't afford a big piece of equipment.

In general id say size 57 gravel. If you don't know what that is smaller than golf ball.

Welcome to tbn
For rocks one inch in diameter , I had the baseball teams(parents for little kids) walk the fields. It gave them a sense of ownership in the fields.
I was not able to find rake to remove small stones.
What part of Ohio are you in

The tines on a landscape rake are typically about 1" wide with 1" spacing between them. You would want to check out various manufacturers to see how tight of spacing you could get.

I would think that you would also want gauge wheels on the rake to make sure you kept the field level.

To keep cost down, I would try something like this to rake them into a pile so they will be easier to remove manually or with a front bucket. Ken Sweet
