I have a mf33 grain drill with a trip lever this fall something happened to it and when I trip the lever to raise the blades (which it does) the shaft with the paddles on it to drop the seed continues to spin thus continually dropping seed even in the up position.
I can't find what has come loose or broken to cause this and was hoping for some direction

Or if anyone has converted this trip lever over to a hydraulic lift and could elaborate on that

And help greatly appreciated

Did you check the 'R' pins are still in place on the shaft? That could be your problem.

About 8 years ago I bought two old Minneapolis Moline P3-6 grain drills from a neighbor for $275. Ten feet wide, 20 drops, single disc openers.

One of these had a pair of trip clutches to raise the openers when making turns.

The other had a pair of simple levers to raise the openers.

I rebuilt both of them. The one with the trip clutches became a lawn ornament.

I modified the other by shortening the levers and adding a hydraulic ram. My 2008 Mahindra 5525 has triple rear hydraulic remotes.

Hope this gives you some help.

Good luck
