2017 kubota L3901 HST
I've had my 2015 kubota L3901 since the end of September and I've done a lot with the stock QA 66 inch bucket but I'm wondering if anyone has ever put a larger bucket on one of these tractors. I'm considering buying QA 66 skid steer style bucket that's long and low for being able to move more firewood and loose gravel/materials in one go. This would free up my stock bucket to be able to put a tooth bar on for digging. The stock bucket just seems too short and doesn't have a great amount of roll back to hold the loose material in at a low height. I had also considered a QA snow bucket for moving firewood and such but I like the added visibility of the low profile skidsteer buckets better. Any advice is appreciated.

Personally I use IBC totes (under $100, a lot less if you get ones with trashed bladders as you only need the cage for firewood) & pallet forks. I don't use a lot of wood, but do move a lot of other junk & some wood that way. I have a L3200, so pretty much the same tractor you have with the same lift capacities.

Photo of an IBC tote on my 3pt forklift (forklift was a failed experiment in a way to increase my lift capacity, forklift will lift over a ton, possibly 2, but my 3pt won't lift much more than the loader due to the wight of the forklift. I gave up on the idea not wanting to break my 3pt & am selling the forklift).

With the IBC totes, you can just fill em with firewood & leave em wherever. Transportation with the pallet forks is trivial. And as a side note, I probably use my pallet forks more than my bucket. SSQA is definitely the way to go & I would highly recommend it if you don't already have it. I can swap from bucket to forks in under 2 minutes (without even getting off my tractor thanks to my power SSQA setup I built).

Not an answer to the question you were asking, but it might be a solution. ;-)

I like the tote idea but that would only solve my firewood moving problem. I do have a SSQA loader and plan to get a set of SSQA forks hopefully in the spring. Nice tractor by the way. I like the forklift.
