First I'd like to thank everyone for the warm welcome to this site now I'm going to ask a question I know my tractor can handle up to a 6ft tiller but there is an auction coming up and growing season is near and I'd like to really try a tiller just can't find one used or for the right money but I pretty confident I can get this at a reasonable price. I've heard you can off set them to one side with 3pt arms ? Either way I figured it can be trading stock till I find a bigger one all in put wanted or I'm I wasting my money it's a tractor supply brand I think county line yellow in pic my tractor is a L3830 Kubota and it's got the bigger tires 17.5Lx24 so I'm worried about covering up my tracks thanks and would like to apologize to all I work for a living and do not get too much time to be on hear as much as I'd like to but thanks to all looking forward to hearing ideas Thanks.

Tractor Supply has sold Tarter or King Kutter brands. I have a King Kutter II 5' tiller and love it. It tills everything I have thrown at it. I would definately recommend the KK model. I think the Tarter model is pretty much the same model. I was looking at getting mine from TSC for $1600 when I found a barely used one for $800 on Craigslist. I bought it, even though I did not own a tractor at that time!

You can offset it by a few inches by adjusting the 3 point arms, making one longer and one shorter. But you are only going to get 6 inches of offset. Plus it will create more wear on the PTO joints.

I don't think you're going to get complete track coverage with a 4' model. Usually when I see them priced side by side, you only pay a small amount more to go with one size bigger.

I think when I bought my KK II it was only $100 more for the 6 foot than the 5 foot model. I like my KKII, it has so far handled my rocky soil without an issue. It is the forward rotation type that just ride up and over large rocks and so far no broken tines.

Yes I know it's probably not much more for a bigger one but this is at a auction next week so should I bid or not thanks

Secret to auctions: Don't bid on something that you don't need, regardless of price. Another thing is don't bid more than 50% of new price for anything. I have seen people pay $1000 for a very beat up used 16 foot trailer that needed new tires, new wood, new fenders and paint that cost not more than $1500 new. They simply got caught up in a bidding war. Don't be suckered in on bidding for something that isn't going to work for you.
Watch for sales on tillers if you need a new one. I got my 6 foot one for less than $900 at Atwoods last year which was $400 off IIRC. The sale had actually expired the day before but I told the manager I would buy if he gave me the sale price which he did.
