Tractor
Montana 3040
Alright everybody needing some input on getting a backhoe attachment. My problem is I am wanting to put it on my Montana 3040 and I talked with my local LS dealer today and was informed that the sub-frame model for my tractor is no longer avaliable since montana is no longer selling tractors. I have looked at some 3 point hitch models but am really not sure about all the force one will put on my tractor. Anybody had the same problem or have any advice?

I was in the opposite position. My tractor is too new and unless I bought the factory BH there is no aftermarket sub frame available yet. I bought a used Woods BH750-3 BH that came with a sub frame for another tractor. All I had to do was build brackets to attach this sub frame to the frame on my tractor.
There are a lot of posts here from others that have built their own sub frame.

if you can't build your own BH frame, I'm sure you can find someone to build a frame for you that ties the rear of the tractor and front of the tractor together to mount the BH on. i would buy a woods new or any brand used.

Woods, wallenstein, Bradco and other aftermarket BH manufacturers is who you need to contact. I think you should be able to find a subframe kit, it will just more effort than going to local dealer. Besides some of these aftermarket manufacturers are the supplier for certain tractor brands BH's. Maybe one of them provided the backhoes for Montana? Maybe your dealer would know.

Or lookup Montana dealers online, maybe someone still has a subframe used or new waiting for a buyer.

Good luck in your search.
