Can anyone offer any first hand opinion on using an 84" bucket with the LA1154 loader, on an M7060HDC12? If I want to cover my tread width when the rears are set out, (16.9 - 30 tires), I need to move from the 72" to the 84" bucket. I was wondering if that might be too much bucket for this machine.

Thanks for your thoughts!
Patrick

If your moving lighter loose material you'll probably be fine. I have the LA1353 loader on my 8540 with 84" the loader has 1500lbs more break out force and lift capacity to 60" and over 1000 lbs to full height. I have a lot of clay lifting a full or nearly full bucket out of a pile sometimes I dont quite have enough breakout force.
I suspect youd be fine for most applications

Thanks for the reply Dave, what's your opinion of covering the tread width of the rear tire completely?

Hi Patrick its definitively nice if youre clearing snow. Normally in the dirt your not removing more than an inch or so at a time. I suspect its not a problem if it tires dont completely cover the rear. Perhaps someone else can comment as i dont really have experience with that condition

I have a 84" on my M7040 with cab, rear tires filled, cast center wheels. I like it. I wanted to cover my tire width and have the larger capacity for snow. Also keep in mind you might not always have a full bucket but you can move the equivalent amount of the 72'' bucket and not spill any if you have to travel while carrying material. Hope I made sense. I say go with the 84".

The stock bucket that came with my mahindra was way too small. The bucket I have on now is a bit oversized for dirt work, but I find it's a great all around bucket. The original, smaller one was not able to load wood chips-it just moved the pile unless you had something to push against.

A larger bucket is better for: firewood, raking debris into it, snow, any lightweight material.

The only downside is you might not be able to lift a heaped bucket in tightly packed material, and you may need to run more counterweight if using the loader and bucket to its capacity.

Go with the 84" IMO if it's a general use attachment.

Multiple buckets. I have a 78" digging bucket and an 84" materials bucket. These have worked out excellent for me.

Have a 78" on LA1153E loader on a M7040SU. 72" looked too narrow. 78" is width of tractor but my wheels are set in close.

If I moved any snow I'd want the wider bucket.

My bucket work is heavy material. I run an 84" and a 72" on a 90" tractor.
