I'm considering a Caroni TL1500 for keeping about 12 acres knocked down here in central Florida. My concern is the sandy patches and lots of fallen moss after storms. Will flail blades fair well with sand and will the moss get wrapped around the rotor and require constant removal?
Also, as I have lots of trees to navigate around, will the rear roller handle that turning on some sandy patches without digging in? Maybe a flail is intended more for straight courses in field type situations.
Perhaps the TM1900 would be better. But I prefer to use a Kubota L2350 which is a rather larger compact but only 25hp.
Note that after get the existing hood high field grass down, I'll keep it mowed to a reasonable height.
Appreciate any owners out there to chime in.
