Until recently glyphosate (not blended with other chemicals) has been considered the least dangerous herbicide, claimed to break down to harmless residue on contact with soil. It's sprayed on grain crops just before harvest to force uniform dryness. However - recent research is showing glyphosate residue in humans with the effect unknown, and some harmful effects to humans and wildlife are theorized. Opinions range from essential and harmless, to suspected to increase cancer risk. No conclusive answers yet. What are the environmental issues relating to these products?
