I have hooked up a 12v 3.8gpm FIMCO sprayer pump to my 3pt FIMCO 60 gallon tank. Overall very happy to get rid of the PTO pump. It has an internal shutoff of around 45 PSI and that's as much pressure as I can get, but the droplet sizes still seem a little bit large. I was using a higher PSI on the PTO pump and getting a finer spray droplet size and better coverage. Does anyone have any advise on how to rectify the situation? My nozzles seem to be in very good shape just wasn't sure if I could use any aftermarket nozzle to help out. Some of this seems like voodoo black magic to me. I'm doing 5-10 acres of food plots with the usual cocktails: glyphosphate, sethoxydim and 2,4DB, that's about it. Thanks in advance.

I hear you about the voodoo magic thing. I suspect you will need to swap out the nozzles for ones that produce finer spray at reduced pressure. I never went from a high pressure to low pressure pump, but made up a boom with nozzles from Tractor Supply for a similar 12v pump as yours.
Somewhat related... When I remade my boom for a larger bucket, I discovered that Fimco makes an awesome wireless controller to switch the power on / off. Rated at 20a and works great, and saved me from running a lot of wire up to a manual switch.

How would I find nozzles that fit? Our local Tractor Supply is weak...at best. Thank you for your response. By the way I have the wireless controller and it's great. Two complains: batteries seem to die rather quickly and sometimes the range is quite small, within 10' or so or have to lean towards the control module.

Go to TeeJet - Welcome to TeeJet.com, page 2. I use the same Fimco pump at 3.8 gpm and 45 psi with 6 AIXR11003 tee jet nozzles on a 40 gal sprayer with a 120 inch boom. Arrived at this combination after phone discussion with the online contact rep for tee jet. Very helpful. Just tell him what's in your tank and the desired gallons per acre.

With that same pump on my Fimco boom sprayer, it came with the yellow TeeJet tips. They produce a spray that is too fine at times, so I usually run mine at 38 - 40 psi.

I changed my 4 yellow tee jet sprayer tips and replumbed the boom to get the 6 blue AIXR 11003 tee jet nozzles with instant shut off valves. The yellow tips did not did not output enough material.
