Hi, has anyone here purchased or used the Delta Hook quick hitch? It seems like a great addition for multiple implements.

I hear that it works fine, but the big drawback is buying an expensive adapter for each implement. It would help if you can make the implement piece yourself.

From what has been posted it seem like a very good system, with a major drawback of price.

I've been using Delta Hook for 10 years now and it's the best by far. I bought a Speeco QH a few years ago for my big tractor and ended up talking it back because majority of my "Quick Hitch Compatible" CAT 2 implements weren't.

All my Delta Hook components are CAT 1. Nice thing is that the implement side piece adapts even to non QH compatible implements as well. I have DH on all my CAT 1 implements except my Woods 6' rotary cutter and my LS 7' rear finish mower. I have to get off to hook up the PTO anyway so, no real time savings. The telescoping lower arms, on my LS XR4046HC make hookup pretty easy on the Woods Cutter and the LS RFM is on wheels so I can just roll it into position.

I used Delta Hooks for years. I had a female unit on most of my attachments. The Delta Hook system is excellent and works great. I changed to Pat's system for two reasons. First, the Delta Hook female didn't fit on a couple of my attachments. Second, unless you have a female unit for every attachment, you obviously have to move a female unit from attachment to attachment. They are heavy, and in trying to plan for the future when I am not around to make these kind of changes, I thought it would be tough on my wife, for example, to change a female Delta unit from one attachment to another. Hence the change to Pat's system, which also works great. I will note, though, that I bent two of the female units by using them on attachments like a box scrape and then getting the box scrape hung up on a large root. The more recent versions of the Delta have reinforcement straps welded on that help prevent outcomes like this.

Seems like for $400 for each of the plates for a cat 1 you could easily modify most implements to be QH compatible even if they were not already. I converted my log spliter to cat 2 QH. Modified my carryall to he QH compatible also. Only remaining item that isnt is my Gannon Box Scrapper. I also notice that tractor side does nor appear to be clevis style and could be prone to bending

Huh? Makes no sense? I want to see you bend a DH CAT 1 Control Plate with a CAT 1 tractor.

Generically a clevis style with the pin supported on both ends is going to be significantly stronger than a welded or threaded pin supported on only one side. No clue about the Delta setup though.

I do see the same issue with the Delta I have with my quick hitch though. It adds length between the tractor & the implement. The further away the implement the less the lift capacity. Only was a problem for me once (heavy 3pt forklift... ended up not being able to lift more with it than I could with my loader & pallet forks).

I'm pretty happy with my quick hitch & TnT though. Have yet to even wish for telescoping lower arms.
