Does anyone know anything about the bobcat line of rotary cutters? I've found a 6' model (3RC70) that has never been used but is a few years old at a local dealer. I couldn't find anything about them on the web, which makes me nervous about finding parts. On the plus side it does have front and rear chain guards. They are asking 1100 bucks, which seems OK.

I've been looking for a decent used model for a while and they are either crazy expensive or beat up pretty badly. This one might fit the bill.

I have 18 acres and a 30hp Kubota, and this will be to keep the trails open and a little bit of invasive plant management.

Thanks

3pt or hydraulic? At that price im assuming 3pt There isn't much to a rotary cutter... deck, gearbox, PTO shaft, a wheel & blades. Rotary cutter gearboxes are commodity items that are readily avaliable all over. Other parts are commodity as well or easily fabricated on your own.

Personally I wouldn't buy a new rotary again (got one new with the tractor) They are easy to find at half that price used in decent shape.

Yes, it's a 3pt cutter. I'm a little leery of the unit as it's at least a few years old but it's never been sold/used. Just seems funny for them to still have it on the lot. I'd think that there must be others out there with one of these.

Anyway, thanks Fallon.

Here are a couple of pictures, does anyone know what year this was made in from the serial number?

Thanks.

Not seeing them on the web can be good. Most people don't make posts about good equipment, just problems.

Since it has a Bobcat tag on it, parts should be no problem.

$1100 looks life a real good deal, compared to this one:

It may be pushing it for a 30hp tractor .

Offer 1000,you can't go wrong there.Bobcat has been in the equipment game a while. I would take a chance at that price forsure. Although they aren't known for they're cutters I would say it's decent quality

Bobcat doesn't make it's own implements. If you can figure out who makes it all the better. My blower for example is made for them by Erskine. Looks like a good deal in any event.

Not really. My 60" LandPride runs fine behind my 32hp L3200 HST... 25-26 PTO HP. Id have no issues with another foot. You may have to slow down a bit to prevent bogging, but it should spin it fine. He has more tractor than me as well.
