Hedge Trimmer?

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a 3pt mount, PTO driven, vertical hedge trimmer available? I have almost 5000 ft of bushes I would like to trim. Would be neat if I could do it with my new JD790.

I'd think a brushhog type mower that highway maintenance crews use (the kind that sticks out to the side and you can tilt the deck) would work, but the ones I've seen require a big tractor. I don't know if they make smaller models or not.

Here's a link to Tiger Mowers . This is the kind of thing that Bowhunter was suggesting. I didn't take the time to look through it, but I would suspect that they might have tractor size requirements for their various models. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think what you are looking for is a sickle bar mower. Here's a link to one of the manufacturers of them. Many more if you do a google search on "sickle bar mower". I've never used one, but have thought about it.

Really cool that this sickle bar mower will cut at 90 deg. vertical position. I don't think the old ones would do that. John
