So, ya know how when you sit on your tractor for hours on end you get used to the noises that it makes. And when a new noise shows up... You are like, WHAT'S THAT? Well, that happened to me with my Woods PRD7200 Finish mower. It's only got about 80 hrs too. Good thing it's still under warranty. Took it back to where I bought it and they called and said a bearing was going away. Really? A bearing with only 80 hrs? I grease it every 3 cuts. Just a few pumps. Takes me about 4.5 hrs to cut my property. Is this normal or should I be worried about replacing bearing a couple times a year? I really like this mower and does a great job. But... I haven't picked it up yet. Do that tomorrow. I'm going to ask a lot of questions about that bearing when I pick it up. I'll let ya'll know what they say.

Mate, I wouldn't be all that worried... unless it happens again.

Twice in a row is a problem, once is just bad luck.

I don't think that's the norm at all. I've run my PRD 7200 for 9 years and have not had any issues at all.

I would say that it's probably just a bad bearing.

However, I would suggest that you grease every time you use it. The spindles turn at a very high rate of speed, and that has a tendency to sling the grease out. If it sits there a week or two and then you use it again, there's not much lube left.
