While I enjoy my "Tractor Therapy" as much as the next guy, 9 hours of mowing in one weekend is a bit much.

I have a JD 2355 and a Bush Hog 10' (offset) rotary cutter. We also have a Kubota L5740 that has a 72" Landpride rotary cutter.

I'm considering one of the Landpride batwing mowers, RC 3615 or RC 6615 as I expect it would speed things up. Both list min HP of 50. The 5740 is 59 HP but shows 50 HP on the PTO. I don't know if the specifications for the cutter are referring to the engine or PTO HP but it should work, either way.

Does anyone here have either mower and care to comment.

Thanks, in advance.

No experience with either unit. The 6615 is much heavier duty. If you are just maintaining fields and mostly clipping grass the 3615 would be fine. I would expect the 3615 to be more expensive. I would check Bush Hog out also for comparison.

I got the woods 15 foot batwing and it cut the time dramatically. You get about 14 feet a pass cut as I overlap just about a foot.

I wish i had kept my 10' bush hog, the 7'r i have now adds way to many hours to keeping my 27 mowable acres cut.

Thanks for the replies. Some good info on this forum.

Downside, The batwing will have 3 gearboxes, blades and drive lines to maintain instead of 1 or 2 that you are using now. Upside, You will love the fuel savings when using the batwing and you will get a better finished cut appearance than the 7 or 10 ft. Ken Sweet
