Tractor
John Deere 750
I'm new to the site but this forum seems to have lots of good information.
I have a John Deere 750 tractor with a FEL but no engine. My neighbor has a JD 770 tractor without a loader. Is it possible to swap the loader and hydraulics of the 750, loader #67, to the 770? When we put them side by side there seems to be many differences including the brackets to frame mounting and the hydraulics system under the seat. Please forgive me if I'm not identifying things correctly my mechanical focus is cars not tractors. My neighbor wants to tear into it and start cutting and modifying but I suggested asking others who may have tried this, or similar swap with or without success. I don't want us to end up with 2 tractors that are non functional and a perfectly good loader all cut up. If we can make it work we will share the tractor.

No cutting. YOU will wind up with junk. Buy a 3 cylinder motor off of Craigslist or ebay, or a dealer and get yours running.

or: SELLyour heartless tractor to your neighbor and be done with it. Now its HIS problem.

Don't share tractors, wives, or even a pair of pliers. That's always where trouble starts and neighbors become diseangaged. Good fences make for good neighbors, too. Sounds like your neighbor needs a loader more than you need a tractor.
