Just a quick shout out to all of you who have shared your great ideas over the years which give the rest of us the benefit of your ingenuity. As an example, earlier this summer I purchased a Quick Harbor Freight Hitch (yeah, you know, on sale and 20% off - cheap!) and of course had the same problems that many of you have had to deal with such as clearance problems, fitment issues, etc. After reviewing many past posts I came to the simple solution similar to what others such as 94Bullet and Fallon have done. For those who are interested, the links to their discussions are included - good stuff.
Although I didn't take any pictures during my build, below you will find a picture of the finished product which show the tweaks that I incorporated to my take on the adaptation of the upper hook. If you look carefully you can see that the extension to the back is a little bit longer with three holes so that I can drop the hook down an additional couple of notches which I needed for one of my really old attachments. In addition, if you look closely, you can see that I cut off about 5/8 inch off down the length of the front of the hook which allows it's thinner profile to fit into tighter openings on the attachments.
Anyway,, although I include my "tweaks" to other's ideas for the hook, the real reason for this post is to thank all of you who have shared and helped out the greater tractor loving/using family.
THANK YOU ALL!
