Hi all, I'm doing a lot of landscaping and moving dirt. I have a lot of small rocks I need to get rid of. I was thinking about using a drag chain but have never used one so I'm not sure it's the best choice.
#1 what's the best implement to use to pick small stones out
#2 I'm a fabricator so I can make just about anything... are those homemade chain link fence drag "chains" worth giving a shot?

By small rocks, how small do you mean? Marble sized, softball sized, or?

For anything bigger than 1" or so, you can't beat a power rake.

I'd say most are 1 inch and smaller... for the most part...

Good question... I want to get gravel out of this dirt that is mixed in.

I don't see an attachment doing that. I think you'll need to screen.

Na, there is a way to do it. I've seen it done, pretty sure they used a harrow chain.. It came out great. I'm just wondering if its the best thing to use, and if the home made ones work as well as a store bought chain.

I'm just another non-expert internet voice, but have to agree. That's a job for a screen, never heard of an attachment doing that. Certainly not a drag chain. That might bring the rocks to the surface, but not move them anywhere.
