His price isn't bad and it does look fairly new condition. I don't believe he purchased it for $4800 as his ad says. If he did he got ripped off. They are sold new for around 2K or so any day of the week at many vendors.

I bought a 12KW almost new w/o wheels for $600 several years ago.

Perhaps the seller works for DOD, they can always find the highest price when buying stuff.

I didn't read it that he paid $4800, I read it that is what they cost new, and they probably do cost $4800 retail price.

Yes, there's always deals, I got a "deal" when I bought mine too.

BTW, he says he purchased it new and never used it, so to me, I'd sure as heck check it out and consider it a "good deal", if it's near un-used condition.

That will make some one heck of a good generator!

His ad said purchased price $4800. It didn't say retail price. I'd say he's implying that's what he paid. That's how I read it.

I missed the "d" on the end, and read purchase.... lol

None the less, those are GREAT units and with the trailer would make some one a really good generator.

Once again, I believe you can do a lot better if you go a bit older for a much nicer 1800RPM Made in USA unit, versus a 3600RPM Chinese screamer. Looking through the auctions this year there were a bunch of similar units going for $400-700.

That Winco is NOT made in China and is a quality unit...

Yes it is a 3600 RPM unit, but it will last a LONG time...

I'm not sure there is a drawback to high rotor speed on a PTO set. It's not the same as the "Lawn Mower In a Box" 3600rpm gensets. I think it only became a problem on my high speed Onan when I tried putting a 2-1 gearbox on my JD770 for light loads. The tractor just puked, even with no load. But who does that?

Peoples supposed bought cost always amuses me. Must be a lot of people out there who are not very savvy shoppers. I turn over every dollar before it gets spent.

You said the same thing in the last thread and were corrected. Where are you getting this Chinese stuff from?

Winco 10Kw and 15Kw are not made in China, these generators are Italian heads made by Mecc Alte with Italian gearboxes. They have clean power THD < 6%. The 25Kw are made by Winco in the US, power quality they say clean power but the THD ~ 8% which puts it outside of the clean power definition.

Older generators, most of the time, have much higher THD and are not suited for any kind of sensitive loads.

The PTO generators that are running at 3600 RPM will wear out faster but they are rated for such a long time that unless you are using them as your only source of power you are never going to wear them out with proper care. PTO generators are not even in the same league as ones you buy in the big box stores. Worrying about wearing out the 3600 rpm generator is like saying I am not going to use my pickup to haul home my 500lb item because it will wear out faster so I am going to get the semi. If you are wondering if you need an 1800 rpm generator then you don't need one, if you need it you will know.
