LS XR3037C
Hi folks, Looking for a wider blower for my LS XR3037C gear drive. Currently have an Allied 60" and looking at the 66" & 74" units. I move snow commercially but am not a huge operation. The 60" has worked fine but it would be nice to have one a bit wider. Being the 60" is depreciated out and the accountant said spend $$$ before year end i'm going for a new one. Have found some GREAT deals across the border in Canada with the current exchange. One is a FARMKING Y740 for $2,150 after exchange BRAND NEW! Also found a 2016 Farm King PR6610-4 with the new "bladed" auger that would work better on icy snow for $1,820. What is border crossing like with equipment? I'm thinking either of these are worth the trip for saving $600-$800......

I use to buy equitment in Canada and I never had any problem but that was years ago. I bought a sawmill there after 9/11 and I went right thru customs easier than any time I had my boat from a fishing trip. Call customs and ask what is needed. For me I contacted customs at the airport and they told me what I would need. You may want to give them a call at the entry and exit point you will use. You use to get the GST tax which for ONtario was about 15% if I remember right back at the border. I went thru Port Huron Mich when I went over there

yep, call customs. Thanks to NAFTA you can bring a lot of stuff over without paying fees especially if it was made in US, Mex, or Can. I don't recall paying much when I bought a Honda outboard on the other side. The biggest concern they had is that it met our current EPA standard. Not an issue with your driven non engine equipment I would bet.
