Does anyone make a hydraulically controlled scraper blade for a 25hp tractor? Looking at buying a Kubota l2501 want to make sure I can get one of those blades to maintain a private road. All the gravel keeps getting pushed off to the sides and need to bring it back in. Only ones I've seen so far say for 35hp and up. Not sure why they would require that much

Maybe it's the weight of the blade they are concerned about???

In general...when you angle a blade it narrows the effective width...a blade that is as wide as the rear wheels will be less when angled...to use a wide enough blade (when angled) to be effective outside the rear wheel track requires a quite a wide blade that will require more HP...

I agree, but not sure what that has to do with hydraulic versus mechanical??

How many hydraulic functions are you looking at? Just the primary angle?

You really don't NEED hydraulic angle if it's a problem to find, you usually go down the driveway one direction and then make a pass the other, so you can just about keep the angle the same the whole time.

I actually meant to reply to the OP...sorry...but at any rate... I don't see where hydraulics has anything to do with the HP recommendations it is strictly for the weight/width...hydraulics are just more common on larger, commercial blades...a 20HP tractor will not have ant problem working the hydraulics on the biggest blade that will fit the 3PH...but it may not pull it cutting hard strata or with a payload of gravel etc...

Looking for the hydraulically adjusted one for maintaining a private road about mile long maybe little more. There is not a consistent crown in the road the the angle needed to keep the blade in contact would vary quite a bit. Also would help to eventually create that crown shape needed. Not sure how to explain but these blades are adjustable on more than one axis.

Gotcha. I think all you are going to find in that size, if you can find one at all, is with angle... not offset, and not tilt which is what you need.

I think a hydraulic side link might be an option for you, though I have no experience with hydraulic side links that size. That would give you hydraulic angle control of ALL of your implements. And you might consider a LPGS instead of a rear blade if you are not doing rear-bladely things with it :)

To start with, you want a 7' blade with offset and tilt capabilities and skid shoes. Hydraulic angle is a nice feature to have, no doubt about that. Many times while grading it is nice to change the angle of the blade while you are moving. You will notice with the nicer blades that there is no minimum HP rating, only max HP or max gross tractor weight.

Here are a couple that you may want to be considering. If I were you, I would be looking at The RBT3584 with skid shoes. At just over 700lbs, this would be a nice blade to have behind your 2501. And while you will not be able to use the blade to it's maximum capabilities, you most certainly could make use of all the features and it would work well for your road.

Good luck.

I would imagine Bush Hog offers a hydraulic angle blade,,, they offer a hydraulic angle landscape rake,,

I use a mechanical cylinder,,, that replaced the original ratchet adjuster, the ratchet adjuster took forever to rotate the rake,,,

Even with the new mechanical adjuster,, I have only moved the rake 1% of the times I have used it.
The rake gives basically the same result no matter what the angle is.
