Picked up this old plow a Dearborn model 10-153. Seems to be missing a couple disk that go in front of plows. Not sure if my 38HP Mahindra will pull it or not. Or if it will even work without the two missing disk.

Also what I presume is a cultivator. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

I have the same plow, your tractor will pull that with no problem. You are missing the "coulters".The plow will work without them;they are primarily sod cutters for plowing new ground.
Remember they were designed for a 8N/9N gas that were maybe 20 HP.

Have you ever adjusted/pulled a Moldboard Plow? There is nothing intuitive about plow technique.

Plowing is an advanced art. You are unlikely to achieve satisfactory results without coaching or a lot of reading about plows here.

And a lot of trial and error for your soil. Does your Mahindra have draft control and speed or just up and down depth? You could be VERY busy on the lift lever without draft control. :)

No I have never used a plow before. As for draft control I don't know if it does or not.

Before you try to use the plow polish the moldboards and shares . It will work much better and pull alot easier if you do.

Polish with what a wire brush or actually use some type of rust remover.

You will be fine without the counters, just harrow if needed. I really prefer to break (plow) behind a harrow anyway. It helps to give you a smoother finish.
