Just hitched my new snowblower up and the chute only moves about 140degrees out of 270 degrees. It hits the stop on one side but stops a little over a half way going the other way. Does not seem like anything is binding.

Thanks,

Kevin

The hyd motors themselves ' usually ' just rotate one way or the other depending on hyd flow. They ' usually ' do not have any stops internal to them. I would think the thing that is stopping the rotation is either binding on the chute itself or more probably, built in factory stops. If you can work it back and forth with the hyd motor taken off or loosened, maybe you can see what is keeping the unit from rotating to your wish. Great time of the year to get it taken care of. Good luck !!! Jerry :)

Hi Jerry,

It does hit the factory stop on 1 side, then travels about halfway and stops. I was not sure if there was a built in stop in the motor or it just keeps spooling around. I thought there was no stop and to look for something else, it just doesn't look like it's binding. I have to look at it again in the daylight.

Thanks,

Kevin

Are you going into "regen" or "fast dump" mode?
I have had a similar issue when I was trying to rotate the chute on mine and got into regen on the loader valve.

Hi Aaron,

I tried it with my diverter valves from the loader, they go to 4&5th service. I thought only the bucket went to regen mode and I switched it off. I also swapped them to the raise lower circuit, no change. I then switched it to the 3rd service electric hydraulic switch on the loader handle. All the same results.

How did you cure your problem?

By the way, mine is a John Deere 3033r

Thanks,

Kevin

Have you checked the bolts holing the gear on. If one of them is to long it may cause this

This problem bothered me so much I kept at it. It was the two guide bearings on the top. They were both too tight and bound up when the chute was turning. I loosened them so they would spin and now I get full rotation. There is no problem with the regen circuit on or off.

Thanks for everyone's help

Yes, only the bucket dump/curl circuit goes into regen mode. In my case, I put a bolt in place to limit how far the lever can move so that it cant go into regen mode as I dont have a loader on that tractor, the blower is about the only thing that goes on the front and as such, I dont need regen.
Sounds like you have it under control now.
