New Holland Boomer 55 CAB HST
In the market for a set of QA Pallet Forks. Have a Boomer 37 Cab with 37 hp. It has 250TLA loader which lifts 1818 lbs max ht. @ pins and 1221 or 1354 (New Holland or Tractor Data) max ht. @ 19.7". Considering 2 different models.

Everything Attachments Class I 1 x 3 x 42 forks 2200 lbs rating unit weighs 238 lbs costs $617 new delivered to my house

United Attachments - TITAN Class II 1.25 x 4 x 42 forks 4000 lbs rating unit weighs 320 lbs costs $568 new delivered to my house (can save $75 [would be only $493] if delivered to a business)

They cost about the same so that's not a factor. They both can lift more then my tractor can. The bucket on my tractor weighs 350 lbs and I've had no problems lifting it heaped full. Both these models weigh less than my bucket. The Class II model weighs only 82 lbs more then the Class I. Would the gain in fork strength ( 1.25" ) be worth more than the 82 lbs loss in lift capacity? Maybe not for standard pallet lifting but what about for digging up rocks or roots. Lifting long unevenly balanced logs or getting a fork caught under something you didn't see. Would the thicker forks be less likely to bend over time?

Thanks for your feedback. Merry Christmas :)

I did go with class 2 forks. If you get a larger machine later on you won't have to worry about tearing up a lighter made set of forks. I would find out who makes the forks for Titan. I'm not sure I would want a set of Chinese forks.

United Attachments is located in Collierville, TN, USA. They make this model ( 42" UA Skid Steer Pallet Fork ) that TITAN is selling along with all the models that TITAN makes themselves.

United makes the frame for the forks but who makes the forks.

I'm not sure. Does TITAN make their own forks or do a lot of these companies buy forks from an outside supplier?

I would go with a heavier fork than one close to your loader limit. My loader is the same as your loader. The 16LA was the model number used on the TC series. I have the Land Pride PFL3042 3000# 42" forks that I use with my 16LA loader. I never have to worry about a fork bending.

I lift pallets of shavings or sawdust pellets off the trailer to put in the barn. Most loads are 2000# to start so I have to throw a few bags off to get it to lift. I may not be able to lift it flat but since they are shrink wrapped I can curl the load back so it is closer to the pin. Then I can lift it.

Cascade is the manufacturer that I am familiar with.

If you are just going to lift pallets and not getting a bigger tractor later the lighter model is fine and will lift a little more because it is lighter.

But let's be real, you're going to do everything you can conceive of doing with these forks including prying up the aforementioned rocks - Get the heavier model. I have a slightly bigger tractor than you and have a set of 5,000 pound forks that I abuse. I have never damaged them but I do see them flex now and then when prying on something. I'm glad I didn't go with lighter forks!

I would get the class II set. Pallet forks get abused and we want them to do everything. Sometimes one fork will be doing all the lifting.
