So I'm doing the final clearing on a couple of acres, and needed a landscape rake. I knew Tarter makes most of the three point stuff for TSC, so off I go to the local store to pick one up. Didn't really look at it too well, other than to make sure it wasn't missing any parts. Get out to the property and then I notice this....

No, it's not bent. It got welded that far out of square. I know things happen, but how does this make it out of the factory???

It shouldn't have got out. Apparently, quality control was off that day.
Take it back and exchange for another one. Just make sure its straight before you leave.

I have found when buying from TSC you have to look things over really well, the welding on there stuff is poor, I bought a 5 ft back blade and before I found one that was decent I looked at four others that were not. I don't know were they are made in the US but the quality is about as bad that I have seen from a US company. there cheap and will get the job done you just have to make sure you look everything over before you leave the store.

Look on the bright side, your dealing with a large local company that will stand behind their product and will gladly exchange it for one that is straight without giving you any grief. Manufacturing errors happen, what is important is customer service and how a company stands behind their product after the sale. TSC will give you no problems. Just imagine if you would of bought that from an internet company, the time and hassle and aggravation shipping it back and waiting for a new one, or the hassle and aggravation when an internet company won't except your return or ignores you.

I'll probably be beefing up the mast anyway, so i'll be cutting it off and squaring it up.

Are the teeth shiny on the bottom? It's hard to tell from the picture, if so it's been used!

Oh, I used it. Used the crap out it. Wasn't going to bother returning it for a 20 min fix. I was 30 miles away and needed to get some work done. I took that pic afterwards.

It's fortunate you planned on upgrading the attachment and were going to cut/re-weld in the process. Contrary to popular belief, made in the USA does not guarantee higher-quality products.
