I have an EA 48" rotary brush cutter that I tried to hook up using my new Harbor Freight quick hitch (Haul Master branded). The quick hitch actually worked really well out of the box to connect to my EA tiller. The tiller has a fixed top pin. The rotary cutter, however, has the adjustable, pivoting top pin. When I raise the 3-point hitch, the top hook catches the pin, but as I raise it more, the "fork" pivots upward until it eventually just disengages from the hook. My two bottom pins are in the location shown in the picture below, but there is a 2nd set of holes if I wanted to drop them a little lower. The top hook on the QH is in its lowest position for the tiller, but I tried it in both the low and high position with similar results.
The other thing I tried is right after catching the top pin with the hook, I shortened the top link, hoping that the angle of the hook would make a difference. But as I shortened the top link, I had similar results as I did with raising the hitch: the arm would pivot and disengage.
Any thoughts?
