Looking for opinions about which root grapple to buy... everything attachments sells a 50 inch wide grapple that weighs about 200 lbs and Land Pride sells a 48 inch grapple thats about 150 lbs. Both are priced the same. Does anyone know of other vendors with light weight grapples to compare? I'm looking to put this on a Mahindra Max26 and also looking to buy the third function valve and I'm looking to buy within the next two weeks.... Does anyone have anything to sway me in one direction or the other... or have another option for me to choose from?
TIA!

Hi there. The two brands you are looking at are both excellent options. I also looked at WR Long grapples. My 4in1 is a WR Long and has been an outstanding tool. As long as they are high strength steel you should be fine. When it comes to loader implements I always look at quality of build over price. I don't mind paying more for something that will last and not bend or break when using it. My local dealer sells both WR Long and Land Pride. They are very close to me and that is why I picked the Land Pride grapple for my tractor. From what I see on TBN a ton of folks have the Everything Attachments grapples on their tractors and love them. If I had looked at them during my buying process I might have gone that route. They look like quality grapples as well. I don't see you going wrong either way you choose to go.

Most important thing is weight of the grapple, which you have already looked into. Don't get one that is to heavy for your loader.

LP has a 48" for the BX pin on, but their smallest, lightest grapple with a universal quick attach is a 60" which weighs 247(per their spec).

If you want the ultimate, lift capacity saving grapple for your tractor, the 200 pound 55" Wicked Grapple Rake is the ticket.
Even though it's a little heavier, many will trade off a little lift capacity for the longer lower tines of our traditional 50" Wicked Grapple.

I purchased my grapple from EA, and they are great to work with.

I looked at many, but went with a very heavy grapple. For me, I wish I'd have gone with EAs largest root grapple, but I was encouraged to go with a Construction Attachments heavy grapple given the 100hp tractor upon which it was to be mounted. I have given up quite a bit of lift capacity for redundant strength. I could have gone lighter, and not stressed the grapple.

I would recommend looking at EAs options, especially if you live within the 1000m delivery radius.

And for what its worth, I chose the grapple type in the John Deere Pic, with longer lower tines. Also, I chose one with 2 separate 'thumbs' rather than a single all the way across. But, I have a very wide grapple, so IMO, it is certainly beneficial to me. There are others here with grapples sized more along the lines at which you are looking, and can give their thoughts on the utility of a single or double 'grapple thumb'. I've moved a lot of things with it, and it has worked very well.

Make sure whatever you choose, you put your 3rd function button close to or better yet, ON your main FEL controller handle. You will be using it a lot.

EA was a little higher priced than some others I had looked at. But overall their design and build quality more than makes up the price differences you'll see. Their laminated tine design was one of the biggest selling points for me. They seem to be the only ones making them this way. Everyone else has the triangle gusset that acts as a shovel and digs in leaving large trenches to smooth over. The addition of the cross bars on the back to help prevent tractor damage and the additional serrations on the insides of the lid(s) make it that much better too.

My grapple is a Land Pride SGC 1560. But they do make a lighter model also. Also check out ANBO - they make a Rancher model that is a lighter version.

EA is 5-6 weeks out in anything you order so take that into consideration.

I decided to do it but if you need it right away it aint happening

Since the actual question/topic/title is about the vendor rather than the actual grapple; I'd have to say go EA. They are really second to none. Good bunch of fellas to work with if you have an issue.

Thanks everyone- I decided to go with the EA 55". Ordered the third function valve kit from them too... As for the wait, Land Pride said they were into the middle of June before they could get a 54" so I guess it's a wait either way unless I ordered the smaller 48"

Congrats. You will really enjoy your new grapple once you get it. I got a feeling a lot of brush is headed for destruction.
