Rotary Cutter Can kubota BX 25D handle a 48" brush hog?

I just purchased a Kubota BX 25D last year and the dealer sold me a 48" Land Pride brush hog. My question is, is this too big an implement for the machine or is it common? Will running it on about 1 1/2 acres about twice a year put too much stress on the transmission etc..

I know they sell a 42", maybe I should look into that.

You could use a 5 footer with no problem. The dealer would never steer you wrong.

My profile was wrong. It is a BX 25D. Just wanted to make sure running such a large brush hog over time would not over work the unit. I know slowing down and making half passes would help.

My 2360 cuts with a 48 easily, but doesn't like carrying it raised. Some weight in the FEL would help.

I wouldn't want to carry a 5ft on my rough ground.

Yeah, I just used mine on my BX25 (not D) twice this week. Mine came from Everything Attachments. My only complaint is that I can't figure out how to get my HF quick hitch working with it, so it's a PITA to get on and off. I've replaced the shear pin a couple times, but that seems to go with the territory. I'd DEFINITELY keep the FEL on for counterweight, but if you are like me, my FEL never comes off.

I think the 5 footer might be a little much in terms of comfortable weight and maneuvering though.

Sounds like a consensus that the land Pride 48" brush hog is suitable for my machine.

BTW for anyone wondering about the quality and power to size ration of the BX 25D, don't be. It is an amazing unit perfectly suited for most jobs up to about 5-6 acres.

I run a 48" LP on my BX2200 as well as BX2660, no problem.
