I have the opportunity to purchase one of two disc harrows. These will be for food plots and a little light farming (up to 8 acres max of maintained planting). I have a gift certificate for $100 to TSC and see their angle frame harrows for under $600. But my dealer has a normally $1500 heavy duty disc harrow (Land Pride) sitting on the lot (brand new) and he'll give it to me for a little under $1,000. The Land Pride is a big step up in quality and weight. Question is, do I spend more (which I don't want to) and get a lot more, or will the angle frame harrow do the job okay. The TSC weighs in at around 560lbs while the Land Pride I think is a little under 900 lbs. I don't want to buy another one of these for a long time. Both are the 6' models. You can see the quandary is putting out about $500 cash at TSC versus twice that much at the dealership. I don't mind spending the money if the Land Pride is that much better and longer lasting than the King Kutter.
