I've got a 2 year old Kodiak (Mahindra branded) 6' medium cutter. The grease fitting on the tailwheel caster fell out. The hole is not threaded. I don't know if the grease fitting was press fit into it or if it was meant to be tack welded to hold it in place and never was done. I'd rather not have to take the tail wheel off and thread the hole. Anybody know what's supposed to go in it? I never got an answer from Kodiak/Paladin.

They may be, but I've looked at a couple hundred threaded ones in TSC, RK, and two parts stores and they were all threaded.

My brand new Rhino 950 rear blade has two zerks - both are threaded. My Land Pride grapple(SGC 1560) is three years old and all the zerks on it are threaded.

For that matter all my implements, with zerks, - roll over box blade, disk harrow & PTO chipper are threaded.

I can't imagine a "press to fit" zerk lasting too long.

Are you sure all of the old fitting is out, and not just snapped off in the hole?

Lots of pound in zerks are used today, I don't care for them but they last pretty good, if sized right in the first place...

Actually, if they are pounded in properly, it's hard to tell that they are not threaded.

Yes, i can see the shaft rotate inside. I'm going to mic the hole and see if I can find a drive-in fitting that will work.

You can use a 1/4" drive socket to install the drive zerks, probably a 1/4" size. That will fit over the nipple but will push on the flange. An extension might help you drive it straight. I'd rather have threaded too, but not all are.

My TSC has a both drive in and threaded zerks.
The drive in ones are ribbed, so they look similar to the threaded ones.
