Implement width

So I have a xg3025h. If I was to get a box blade would I be better off with going bigger then rear wheel width? The tractor is 66" wide so I was thinking 7 foot width. This will be used for a gravel drive.

Yes. I got a 7 foot box blade when I traded tractors last year. Upgraded from a 5 footer. My current tractor is 6' wide at the rear. I like to cover my tracks.

A 6 footer is a good match for your tractor. :thumbsup: Get as heavy as you can afford-willing to spend. Weight is your friend when it comes to grading.

Yes to both. Wider than your wheel tracks, and heavier is always better for box blades. Also, get one with a cutting edge on both front and back sides (some only have a cutting blade on the front side), and scarifiers can be real handy for breaking up the ground for regrading.

I would not go larger than a 6ft. If you load up a 7ft blade with gravel, you might not have enough power to pull it, especially if you've got an uphill driveway.

IF I read the HP correctly for your tractor it is 24.5 or about that. Seems low for that width tractor so I may not have gotten correct hp. But you want at least 6 feet to be wider than tires but if hp is only about 25 I would stop with 6 ft blade and yes it full you will have hard time pulling it even if four wheel drive and not going up hill. So you will learn how much to fill it and how to lower the blade a little and not just drop it in grading. I have a 10 ft pull box blade and not the two feet tall commercial ones with four wheel 91 hp and I stop the tractor depending on what I am grading. If you are going with a blade with the rear cutting blade on it do suggest you get one that swings up when you are pulling forward and only drops down when you are backing up. If it is fixed to me it affects how much flexibility you have with angle and depth when cutting going forward.

Yes that's correct. It's a larger frame size, but smaller engine to get around the Tier 4 emission components. Lot of brands are offering the same frame size that would be 30-38hp, but putting the smaller engine in them. 7ft will be too big for that machine unless you're talking about a grader blade and not a box blade.
