Has anyone tried this PTO Link? Easy Power Take Off Adapter - Tractor PTO Link

Looks like it would work and be fairly easy to use. My question would be "Would it make the pto shaft too long and cause it to get in a bind?"

I would think that many times, you would have to cut the shaft so that this attachment doesn't make it too long.

Do a search on this site and you'll find that length might be the least of your problems.

Question would be: What problem are you trying to address? (note: this adapter is NOT a solution for any real problem)

I did do a search before starting this thread with the term 'pto link' and I didn't see anything on the first 2 pages or so. I'll search again.

Thanks for that link.

Terribly expensive problematic complication of a non problem.

yeah, all those fancy gadgets are not going to help in the long run. the quick hitch is a bit of a time saver, but that just screams "i got more money than sense". i can put a brush hog on in 5 minutes with a 6 ft. pole and a 3 lb. sledge hammer. the pole was free and the hammer was less than 20 bucks. for the price they are askin for that pto thingy, ya'd think it was made of gold. heck, if i had that much money i'd have bought a fancy green tractor.

Well.......it seems the consensus is that the PTO Link is expensive and useless.

Thanks for saving me about $400.

I like the idea if it actually works. I have enough trouble with PTOs even with all my shields taken off.

But I wonder why you can't just have one implement end piece that you insert into the yoke. It would be easy to insert when it's out in the open. They show it connecting. What's involved with the disconnect?

Can't argue that it is very expensive and maybe doesn't solve anything and will not be anything I will be purchasing. That said, I have struggled many times trying to hook up a PTO...sometimes it slips right on and other times it takes me 10-15 minutes. A simple search on this and other forums tells me that I am far from being the only one who sometimes struggles with this "problem"...happy for you that you evidently aren't one who does.

I am one who has, and sometimes still does in a more minor fashion.
I learned what I needed to deal with the difficulties. Some are user process related; manipulation or cleanliness. The collar type are a pia; cleanliness and wear being the culprit there. For assembly its pretty easy to be clean and well lubed. -- I use the aerosol WD40 and WD40 grease, both carried on the tractor. Virtually never a problem on assembly. Removal after being long assembled is usually harder. Wet with WD, and I find use of an indexable head pry bar fairly gently is enuf to get the coupling to move even if the balls are a bit sticky and dont move in effortlessly as they should. ... Youre home free when it slides, because you know that it is mechanically released. But dust caked on the spline at the edges of the coupling will come into play as the coupling slides. - A little back and forth and WD40 is very effective at emulsifying that greasy dust.
