Front-End Loader Does the Ford 19-209 (711) 1 Arm Loader Fit on my 1968 Ford 2000 3 Cyl Diesel?

Let us know how it checks out. I think the dimensions of a 2000 and 3000 diesels of that era are about the same. Ours has the curling bucket but that drove up my mounting cost because I only had a single spool controls. Going with a trip bucket would make things more simple but actually we one we bought was the only one I have looked at. I hope to have it mounted and ready for a vintage tractor show in four weeks.

I've tracked down a loader. Going to take a closer look but its a 19-384, with the short box, so I believe it will fit on my 1966 Ford 2000. Unfortunately, no brackets (same old story, brackets were on the tractor when it was sold years ago). So my quandary now is how much to spend for a loader that I may never be able to find brackets for.

Good find. The trip bucket is simple to plumb. The mid tractor bracket is the only one with compound design but I expect it could be made. We have $300 for our 385 and some repair needed for both brackets and the bucket has to be straighten out. Most of them are in new steel products coming from China. The demand for them is very low but availability is even lower. We found ours on CL the first day I looked and drove 300 miles and picked it up on a very cold day. I will buy another one or two if the price is right but that is my excessive compulsive nature. I have 2-3 new/good hot batteries most of the time as well.

May a good discovery about OSPHO on Rusty just now and I will try get a picture up later. Still doing the 5.5 pH well water block and radiator flushing process and hope to get Pat's hitch on Rusty today before the rain.

If you are able I'd appreciate seeing a photo of the hip bracket to make sure I know which to be looking for, assuming I'm able to buy the loader today. Or maybe you can point out which fits from my photo. Thanks. brackets for loader.jpg

It is the one nearest the front of the bucket in the picture.

Thanks - I went to the sale today and waited in the cold for about 6 hours until the loader came up for sale....it was all International Harvester stuff except this loader. And the owner said the brackets were sold with the tractor years ago but when I got there this morning they were in the loader! Maybe they had been under the bucket -- who knows. But I got a couple brackets--hip and I think the one that goes to the transmission. I was thrilled to see the hip bracket. Only one other person at the auction had any interest in it, and he was really interested, so instead of getting it for $100 I paid $450---a princely sum. But I'd planned on $300 with no hip bracket and figured I'd pay $200 to find that bracket. I even have an ad on CL offering to buy one for $500 so I'm happy. But I sure wish that guy hadn't been there.

I'm going to start a new thread when I get some photos after I pick it up. I'll need a favor from someone that can make a paper template for the front bracket so I can have a front bracket made for a light bolster, diesel, 1966 Ford 2000.19-384 brackets.jpg

That sounds like a great find at a good price. I think there are a few into this era stuff but in time it too will be in an auction perhaps. I am going overboard on our 1966 3000 diesel loader set up hoping the daughter (now 20) will hang on to it for another 50 years. :)

Now that you will soon have the loader home and have the hip pin you can measure from the hip pin and compute the area where the pin will go through the front bracket and what shape to make it.

The key position of the hole in the front bracket is to be so the bucket is square with the front axle, etc. While the height off of the ground is still important and will impact how much below surface grade or max height it raise I do not see it as critical as the right/left position. Since the design of this front bracket was tweaked for many different tractors not sure it will be easy to know its design but by trial and error. Making up a few out of 1/2" plywood to get a final template might work.

Ours we were told was first on a diesel 3000 but the front bracket had been cut and hacked to work on a gas 3000. When we got it welded back more or less as the OEM designed we had to put a notch in it so it did not make contact with the lip of the engine oil pan.

Working with these loaders out of the 50's-60's calls for some creative thinking since few have ever seen one mounted in person. Hopefully you will find some detailed photos of a 2000 3 cylinder diesel with the one arm loaded mounted. If ours does not negatively impact steering much we may leave it on most of the time. Hopefully we will get it mounted this week.

I think we have essentialy the same tractors....and loaders. Any chance you could pattern the front bracket and send it to me for my shop to make me a bracket? I think this is the OE I need but I doubt I'll ever find one.Front light bolster 3 cyl brackets.jpeg

I picked up a piece of 3/8" plate. They are going to do the final design on the fly that lower arm box is now pinned to the hip bracket. I will try to get there and get a picture.

Tonight I prepped the belly side strap bracket with Skyco OSPH, Rust-Oleum Farm & Implement Gray Primer and TSC Majic tractor Ford Blue 8-2968. Much better match than the darker New Holland blue but a bit brighter than the 65-99 Ford Blue.
