2016 Mahindra 2538, 2016 Mahindra 2655, 2017 CaseIH 75C, 2021 CaseIH 110c., 2020 Kubota svl 65-2, 2022 Kubota svl 75-2
This week I expect I will be ordering my new Mahindra 2655. It has a lift capacity of 3100 pounds. I will most likely be ordering a grapple of some type. My thoughts are that I may be able to expand my business through the grapple. I could do storm cleanups etc. I am thinking I need a 6' wide as that is the width of the tractor and the bucket that is on it now. Then comes the question of one or two clamps. I am thinking two. Is weight that big of a deal? I know it takes away from the tractor but I have a pretty good amount of lift strength so wondering if it is a concern?

What I am looking for is why you purchased the grapple you did after your research? I can get a Mahindra one at 200 off but may not want that. We have advertisers on here. Everythingattachments and Titan. If you bought one of those two tell me why or why not. The easy way out is take the single clamp Mahindra. I do not always do everything the easy way.

And you haven't mentioned what TYPE/STYLE of grapple you want yet...:licking:

I bought a W.R. Long open bottom grapple for my Deere 4720, I've got maybe 50 hours on it and couldn't be more pleased. It's very well built and will last me forever. Check them out.

I did a LOT of research looking for a grapple and was working on ordering one from Everything Attachments. I have learned over the years to buy things built a bit better than I think I need For my needs a grapple with long tines on the bottom and dual lids. Easier to carry varied shaped and dimension trash, boards or whatever and lots of limbs or brush and what not. Not a root grapple with short tines on the bottom for digging.
Had a job come up that I could do and almost pay for the new grapple with the profits. (After wages, fuel, and maintence). Had a tight deadline and no time to order one so I bought a used one that unfortunately weighs more than the EA one but of similar style. I do not have the lift capacity you do so I wish it weighed less but in reality its been a minor issue and has worked great. Advantage of the used one was I was able to get the job done on time and actually pay for it in full from that one job YAHOO

P.S. I suspect that any grapple is better than none

This sounds just like what I am trying to avoid. I am looking hard at EA. They look good and seems like good reviews but when I ask about grapples their name does not come up. I do not know what grapple I want. Sometimes I till large stoney fields and would like to be able to scoop some rocks. Someday I hope we have a good storm where I can pick up brush and down trees. Sometimes I get asked to move an old woods back into the newer woods. I mean one that has been cleared and pretty rotted and the home owner wants to make his lawn larger. I do not have one in mind only I am thinking the bottom has to be more like a bucket with spacing close enough to pick some rocks if this helps

Go with the EA grapple and you will never look back.
Duel lid works best for me. It gives a better bite on uneven stuff

If you are going to order a grapple and install it yourself or have somebody do it for you - then look at ANBO. Its a company that's 70 mile north of me. They will make up just about any type, style or configuration you can come up with. When I was looking - they and Land Pride were the last two "still standing". Went with Land Pride because the local Kubota dealer offered a better deal on purchase/install package.

You haven't seen a "GRAPPLE" until you've seen a BIG - grapple that weighed 8000 pounds. Built for a big wheeled loader.

I have the , Titan Attachments 82" Rock Bucket Grapple Skeleton Loader w/ Teeth it has a 4" spacing between the tines of the bucket.
I have picked some stone with it, it didn't work as well as hoped the cutting edge sticks out further then the grapple so between scooping up a lot dirt which was kind of clumpy
that day that didn't want to fall thru the tines and having to dig into the ground with it. It worked but not the best. For skimming along the ground and pushing up brush and logs it
works good. For picking up a single log with it, it is necessary to go above it curl the bucket under so as to be able to get the grapple to be at grade level then grasp the log and pick
and curl up with it. The price was good and it's built heavy, if the grapple was 6" further ahead it would be great as it is, it's OK works decently.

The very cool feature of my grapple is I can curl it to where the plates and open bottom are both touching the ground and I can pick up anything like your hand would. Or I can position it to scoop up stuff. I have zero financial interest in WR Long, I'm just totally happy with it (like my tractor.)

Close spaced tines for smaller rocks is the one major failing mine has. Spacing is about 8 to 9 inches and wish it was smaller. EA has one that has closer spacing and still weighed less which is what I was looking at.
As usual with tools one grapple style does not do it all and its a good thing your looking into so much detail so as to get your moneys worth and best fit most of your needs.
