Anyone have or use one? Thinking of getting one and the price seems decent (and in stock at our local store) and was wondering what you all thought.
Black Diamond 3 Point Mount Log Splitter YTL-14-25 : Rural King
I don't split a lot of wood, say ス a cord a year currently, maybe 1 cord. We may get an out side wood burner down the road so I am sure I will split some wood for that but a lot will go in whole.
I don't need blazing speed so I was thinking this would work well.
I am going to run it on a MX5100 - 9.5 GPM (not counting steering)
I have two rear remotes that auto center - can I hook to one of them and just hook it so it stays open?

THANKS

The top section is identical to the one I bought at tractor supply, the base is different, the only thing I noticed is it is long 83” you have to be careful not to hit anything when turning, as far as the splitter goes it works great.

In that same price range you might compare to the Power Horse 3 pt splitter by Northern Tool.

THANKS all! I will also check out the Power horse. Figure I will use it two times a year to split up a tree or two so no need to invest a ton on a splitter.

I too am looking at log splitters. I find absolutely amazing how the descriptions in the ad don;t match the product. For example, the link above is for 3pt yet the description on the site talks about filters, 14 gpm 2 stage pump, etc. i see it time and again in TSC as well as others.

I noticed that also. LOL Seems they use the same description for the 3pt and the stand alone. Doubt the marketing/computer people have a clue what they describing or posting ads about.

E-commerce sites like that are often done by cheap contract Indian coding houses. Nothing against Indian engineers as I've worked with some brilliant ones but they're not the guys doing e-commerce sites as cheaply as possible. Between bad code and bad data in the databases there's going to be a lot of errors.

But hey, it's cheap!

I haven't done any research, but maybe they're running a pump off the pto vs a power beyond scv.
Two different types but still 3pt.

The black max runs straight to the tractors hydro (Got too see one in person at the local store) - looks pretty decent for the money.

It would be great if black diamond had a video of it in use splitting wood and tell us what gpm it was hooked into. i wonder if it is open center valving. the one video on you tube by North40 shows it in use splitting one log but you will see they have it piped to a stationary pump not to a tractor.
