Tractor
Kubota M7060HD, Kubota L3600
I've used a EA Wicked 50 grapple on my Kubota L3600 for the last several years. It has performed flawlessly on just about everything and is still in excellent condition. I now have an additional tractor, a 70 hp Kubota M7060HD and would like to sell the EA 50 as to have only one grapple to share between the two tractors.

The L3600 would be fine with a grapple that weighs up to 450# but anything heavier would limit my lift capacity too much. The weight of the EA utility grapple weighs over 600 and would be too much for the small tractor. The 60" EA single lid for compact tractors maybe a little light for the M7060 but it seems like some guys are using them on larger tractors without any problems.

99% of what I use a grapple for is to move brush, limbs, dead trees, etc. No bulldozing, no root or rock digging.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a L shaped grapple for my needs? Does anyone use a Compact EA single lid with a larger tractor?

Thanks

Why not just use the EA 50 on the bigger tractor?

Although it's held up to my 39 hp L3600 very well, the EA 50 is only rated for 35 hp. The M7060 is 70 hp and the bare tractor weighs 5000#. It also has a loader plus loaded tires so it's probably closer to 9000-10000#. I'd thought about trying it on the bigger tractor but if I did and then bent or broke something... I'd still need a heavier duty grapple.

If you've got the $$ to spend why not just get a bigger EA? 60 or 66?

I'll take your 50 :)

Yea, that's what I want to do is get a bigger EA grapple but not one that weighs 600+ pounds. I still want to have only one grapple to use on both. I think the Compact EA Single Lid might handle both tractors but I would like someone to chime in that uses one on a bigger tractor.

I'll save you some $ on the EA 50 and you won't have to wait 3-4 months to get it. 😉

That's why I replied - the EA Wicked Root Grapple V 2.0 in 66" form only weighs 452 lbs.

That one and the single lid are the ones that I've been wondering whether they would hold up to the 7060.
Both have stronger 3/8" steel that other brands of grapple that I've looked at and those are rated for skid steers.

You did not say what you use the grapple for,,
I have been considering a stump bucket grapple,,
much lighter,, and MUCH stronger,, possibly what you are looking for??

This is from my original post.

That is exactly my use, and I plan on getting the stump bucket grapple, because it is lighter, and will leave more cargo capacity,,,

Google Denton North Carolina, and grapple,, that town has at least three manufacturers of grapples,,,

I plan on going there to get my grapple.
