Re: Any comments on the \"DeltaHook\"?

Looks like a great device Glu. I assume you need a remote? At my age I could use all the help I can get to keep from straining these old muscles wrestling with hookup /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Looks very similar to Freedom Hitch. I don't have either at this point but have been looking (web pages only - no local dealers around here) I would be interested in knowing if someone compared the 2.

Re: Any comments on the \"DeltaHook\"?

Lyle,

Thanks! That's the kind of information that I was lookiung for. I looked at the Freedom Hitch too (Freedom Hitch), and it looks very similar. I haven't priced either one, but I've sent email to Gearmore (they haven't replied yet /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif). Will do the same with Freedom Hitch.

Still interested to see if anyone has tried either of these?

Re: Any comments on the \"DeltaHook\"?

I use the Freedom Hitch and have it on three attachments. Boxblade, Rockrake, and a rotary cutter. The only problem I have encountered is the need to put the implements down on a beam to make sure I get my 3 point hitch to disengage properly. This may be an issue with my 3 point being out of adjustment (Kubota B-2910). I did bend my support for the rock rake cause I got carried away and did not get off the tractor to raise it.

These hitch systems do have one limitation. No all implements can be fitted. Implements like spreaders are so light and require a special stand. I am not sure a post hole auger would well but I don't have any experience.

All in all, I enjoy the system very much. It allows me to get more done.

Re: Any comments on the \"DeltaHook\"?

I've looked at this system and the fact that it requires both the tractor and the implement to have matching pieces installed is what turned me off. I am very interested in the type of quick-attach which hooks directly to the implements 3-point hitch. Does anyone have experience with one of those?

I guess as I get older, I'll appreciate not having to climb on-off my tractor to hook up. Right now, it's not a big problem. Now I'm not trying to infer that anyone who has one of these is old.../w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Any comments on the \"DeltaHook\"?

I have a landpride quick hicth, and would not be with out it, and a hyd top link helps alot to. I have too many 3 point eqiupment for the freedom hicth type system(could not afford it). Some things fit these hicths and some don't. once every thing is customized to fit the hitch it is great.

Re: Any comments on the \"DeltaHook\"?

I bought a midwest freedom hitch online for $150 (per side) it looks the same and it speeds up attaching my box blade big time.

Re: Any comments on the \"DeltaHook\"?

Dana,

One of the implements that I would be concerned about is my brush mower. On my mower, the top link "swings" so that the rear wheel can follow the terrain. I do have a hydraulic top link, so am able to set that to the middle of the swing when it's on level. Just the same, the ups and downs that I go over require that I sometimes adjust the position of the top link to allow the implement full up/down movement.

It seems that the quick hitch (or delta hook) would defeat any ability for this free-swinging top link. Only alternative would seem to be to disconnect the top link altogether, which then would disable the ability to lift the mower off the ground (also required on a regular basis).

Re: Any comments on the \"DeltaHook\"?

This is an important point where the Freedom Hitch has a clear advantage over the Delta Hook. The FH has much more clear open space for PTO shaft clearance. The FH website (www.freedomhitch.com), video, and brochures all show the use of the FH with PTO implements.
