Default using older skid steer attachment on newer tractor

My brother has a Case 1840 skid steer. I will soon have a New Holland TC33DA tractor with a quick attach FEL.

The quick attach system on the New Holland is designed to accept skid steer attachments. My brother tells me however that his skid steer uses an older style of attachments, and they aren't compatible with my tractor.

Is there any way to adapt my tractor so that I can use my brother's attachments? Ideally I'd like to be able to use both new and old style attachments.

    Thanks,

    Tom

Not sure of the answer, but I'd make sure your brother will LET you use them if you find an adaptor!! John

It's easier to adapt the attachment, than to adapt the QA...the only difference I've found is the distance between the pins....either cut a new hole for the pins on the bottom plate of the attachment, or weld on a place for a new pin holes...most aftermarket attachments come with two sets of holes...it's usually the OEM that only has one set....

The attachments for an 1840 may or may not work. Case 1840 loaders used latching pins on the quick attach that function identically to those on the universal mount skid steer quick attach, but the latching pins are closer together. In short, your quick attach pins may not line up with the holes in the Case attachments. However, most attachments produced for Case had holes to accommodate both the 1840 and the larger 1845C loader, which used the standard, universal mount quick attach.

Now the bad news...those Case attachments use a quick attach plate which is "tilted" forward further than the standard universal mount skid steer. What this means is that you will have too much rollback angle and not enough dump angle when using the Case attachments on your New Holland. You probably won't notice the difference when using an attachment like pallet forks, but you'll definitely notice it if you are using a bucket. Try the attachments on your New Holland, you will probably find them to be satisfactory.
