BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

I purchased my L2800 6/18/04. On that day my dealer said he needed a week to prep the machine and mount the BH, but it would be mounted to the 3pt. because the subframe had to be ordered from BushHog. He said that it was already built and needed to be marked with a serial number and painted, which could take 3 or 4 weeks. Well, it's almost 3 months later and the dealer still doesn't know where it is or when it's coming. A call to BushHog @ 6 weeks ago got me the reply that they were in the process of designing it and it would be @ 4 more weeks. That would have been 2 weeks ago! What a bunch of BS! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I'm posting this in case any of you are considering buying a BushHog product that's not in stock. Obviously that company has some problems with follow-up and who knows what else. I' getting ready to demand my money back on the subframe because by the time it comes and gets mounted I'll have done a big piece of my BH work.

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

It's the dealers fault for not checking with BH first and communicating the correct delivery time to you. BH, Kubota, JD, or any MFG does not just MFG to one person's needs or timing. There are a thousand reasons why they may or may not be producing a product needed by any one person in the market. I can name 8 other MFG's that make a loader that is competitive with BH, why did you not ask your dealer to get one of those loaders for your L2800? You may not also realize that the tractor MFG may have changed something about their tractor that requires a redesign of the loader. Steel price increases has caused delays on many products this year MFG are just not holding large quantities of completed finish goods waiting for the market to order. Most MFG's are building for sold orders and if the dealer did not have an item on his lot then 90 days has usually been the delivery time for on demand orders not already in the pipeline. Purchasing a loader is a bit more difficult than purchasing fast food at the drive-in window.

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

I had the same problem with BH about 10 years ago for a loader for my Kubota B8200. Said it would be here in two weeks, shows up 8 weeks later! The dealer said the rep. lived right around the corner, and was right on top of it! I was at the dealer when the truck pulled in. It was to be painted orange, when it came in, it was black. No big deal, but where was the bucket?.............Back ordered /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Driver states that I might see it in 6-8 weeks! at the earliest/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I told the dealer to not even bother to unload it from the truck, just give me back my deposit. Went over to the High priced Kubota dealer, where he had a used loader that was priced more than a new one from his competition! Took $2k cash out and set it on the owners desk. (he was asking $3200, new one was $3100) Pointed to the trailer behind my jeep and told him I was there to buy! Paying cash and that $2k for a used loader that fit ony two models of Kubota, that they didn't make anymore was all I would pay! He said he couldn't do it, I picked up the cash and walked out. He yells out that I can have it for $2500. I just kept on walking. I got into the Jeep and started to drive out, and he stops me and says OK! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I ask where do you want me to park it, so it can be loaded into the trailer. I said don't even write it up, as it is a cash deal. I guess he liked that idea! 5min. later I left with my new to me loader! Would never buy a Bush Hog product after the way I was treated.

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

Bush Hog did me wrong too. My 3210 mower had a design flaw in the driveshaft system and they wanted ME to pay big bucks to upgrade it. Hell, I already paid big bucks ($5900) to buy their piece of @#$%. I guess I was lucky though - it only took a WEEK of bs'ing me to finally admit they were having the same problem all over the country with that unit. The dealer wouldn't even quote me the labor for installing the upgrade. They finally shipped the $800 upgrade kit which was "very special reduced pricing" and I took one look at it and said keep it. I patched up the Bush Hog for under $100 and it's still running but I'm getting a Deere.

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

CCI, it's a backhoe subframe I'm waiting for and my frustration comes from the lies and lack of effort from both the dealer (Erb and Henry, New Berlinville, Pa) and BushHog. When it comes to service, and when you sell anything to the public you are in a service industry, COMMUNICATION is the key to customer satisfaction! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Keeping me in the loop (if there is one) would at least make me feel like my business mattered to somebody.
BushHog should be ashamed for lack of performance and my dealer should be ashamed for not even trying. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

This is making me feel worse about BushHog!! The BH I have works adequately, but it's no digging monster. I'm going to contact them through their website and see if I can get any action. If not, I'll try to get my deposit back. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

First off I'm not a Bush Hog dealer. We sell Rhino. The BH/GB loader plant is located 5 miles from our offices. BH is known for delays because of peak season orders & dealers know this. The dealer should have told you the truth instead of stringing you along. BH's loader competition is Woods-Dual, SMC/Rhino, Koyker, KMW, Wesindorf, Allied, Quicke, etc. These all will be priced less than the OEM loaders. The aftermarket MFG's do make good loaders. I personally like the OEM loaders better than the aftermarket loaders.

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

I think Charley is looking for a Backhoe sub frame for his tractor. Do they make the FEL's and Backhoes at the same plant?

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

I sent BushHog an e-mail yesterday stating that if they didn't give me a delivery date ASAP I'd be getting my money back, and that I was posting here at TBN regarding how poor their performance has been. I got a call this morning at 9am informing me that they were still designing it !!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif!!!! and that it should ship out by the end of next week. I'm certain that the e-mail prompted this action, and that it's no coincidence that they're now at work on my order. Apparently this forum isn't just informative and helpful -- it's empowering as well.
If they do what they say they will, I'll post that as well.

Re: BushHog doesn\'t seem to care

Hi Charlie
Sorry to hear about your problems with the BushHog Co. I have been considering a BushHog backhoe for my L4200, but I would have to order the subframe? I wanted a Kubota hoe but have been told that it will not work on my tractor loader WITH factory cab. After market makers have no problems with this combination. I don’t understand why Kubota won’t work, but that’s what several dealers have told me.

Hmmmm this Ordering a subframe sounds like it is not that easily done. I will scratch this from my possibilities, and continue my search for a back hoe as I don’t need a backhoe that I won’t be able to use because I have no subframe and its still in design 3 months later…

Dealers do make a difference but with the others here having problems with BushHog, Id guess they would do me no different.
Like I said Sorry you are having this problem BUT this has been rather timely and you have saved at least 1 person from the SAME troubles. KennyV.
