I just stopped by the loccal tractor supply yesterday looking for a 5 or 6 foot finsh mower. I saw both sizes made by King Kutter. I have to say, they dont look too durable. Neither do any of the implements by King Kutter. Anyone have any comments?

Do a Search (look up on any page for the link) in the Attachment Forum for "Tractor Supply King Kutter", use the "And" selection feature (not "Entire Phrase") and then select "All Posts".

You'll find more discussions on this subject than you can read tonight. I have a KK rotary cutter from TSC, and it's plenty durable for an economy implement.

I had KK finish mower for about 5 years, it did the job but was not as sturdy or as well made as my current RFM (BEFCO) but to be fair it also was not in the same price range. but i had no complaints about it! other than it was a pain in the A---- to adjust the belt. the newer models might be different.

Perceptions are sometimes inconsistent with reality.

I guess I look at it this way. The price Tractor Supply has on them, you can almost buy two for the price of one of any of the other brands. I use my neighbors KK Brush hog and it has now been running 4 years without a gliche. It actually gets double time because we both use it.

I have a KK 3 blade finish mower next to my barn. If you want it, come and get it. FREE.

I've used my KK 5' otary mower for 3 seasons now. I've cut every ant mound, burried tire.. hidden stump.. high rock outcropping my 13 ac as to offer. That includes some grass cutting too. The hog looks more or less new.. save a few scratches.

Most of my 3pt stuff is KK.. including a boom pole rated for 500# which i know has had at least 700# on it.. a 3pt pallet carrier with similar stresses...

I've got no complaints with it. Plus their customer service has been great when I did have to call to get a small locking ring from them..

Apparently I have the ability to tear up an anvil. A King Kutter is not for me. I want to use an implement, not work on it. In general, you get what you pay for. The KK is one of the cheapest implements you can buy. I'm gonna have to spend a little more for a quality rear blade since I've killed KK ones in the past. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have a KK 5' box blade and a 72" arena harrow, but nothing PTO driven. They're light and cheap, and they work ok. I generally go slow and easy, so I don't stress stuff too hard, but I've done a lot with the box blade by now and I have no complaints at all. Each particular peice is different, same as other maufacturers, but in general I think there are no surprises. KK stuff is exactly what it seems to be, which is not real haevy or heavy duty, pretty rude and crude, but it works effectively. If you've got the dough, and are prone to beating up your equipment, then maybe look elsewhere. Otherwise, go for it and save the $, and buy another if you break it bad enough that it can't be welded!.

Like Soundguy, I have quite a few King Kutter implements, including a rotary cutter. I've been happy with them all, and I give them very tough use. I use my rotary cutter hard and often. I've gone though saplings at 2 inches in diameter, and it never blinked. I can't see spending more for another brand, when in most cases King Kutter will do the job. I think King Kutter is one of the very few cases where you get more than you pay for.
