Does anybody know where you can buy weld-on hooks for a loader bucket?
thanks Tim

You can get them from AW Direct. They're a supplier to the towing and recovery industry and have hooks specifically for that purpose in more than one size, even. They're pretty reasonably priced, too, as I recall.

I second what Gary said. AW Direct people are easy to work with and delivery usually takes about three days. I got the 3/8" grab hooks for the ends of my bucket and a 1/2" slip hook for in the middle. Oh, and they send you a new catolog about every 3 months. Lota good stuff in it. Kevin

I third what Gary and Kevin said about AW Direct. I have the same hook set up as Kevin. I had the dealer weld them on as well as boxing in the upper lip of the bucket.

You may also want to consider weld "D" rings. (Tractor Supply) I used 5/8 ".
They're very strong as well versatile. I put one on each corner with a "slip" hook in the middle of the bucket.

I can't remember who posted the link to AW Direct in an earlier thread about weld on grab hooks, but they seem the best place to get them. I wasted half a day driving all over town trying to find them without any luck. Most every place had the pin on hooks that I'd been using my chop saw to cut to make work, but nobody had the hooks already made to be welded on.
I try to be a perfectionist and make my welds look like smooth caulk. If I have to use some hooks that I'd chopped up to make fit, it sure makes my intention and goal of making the hooks on the bucket look "factory" a lot harder. Hopefully the hooks from AW Direct may arrive today so I can install them this weekend! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I agree with Dargo as I couldn't find any weld on hooks locally either. Not less than 30 minutes ago I ordered five from AWDirect. I want to add a few to the frame of my pallet forks to assist me in off-loading trucks.
