I have a Land Pride mower model # AT2560. I have a problem with grass and dirt collecting under the deck. It becomes so thick, the blade ends start to wear. Is their anything I can coat the under side with to prevent this from happening? Is there a paint that I can use with properties of a non-stick surface? When the mowers are new, is the underside painted with a special material, If so where can I get some of this paint?

owalter, I tried a variety of paints on my previous mower, including some the paint store assured me grass & dirt would not stick to (wrong again). I'd heard WD-40 sprayed on before mowing would do, so I tried that with no luck. I finally learned from a neighbor to mix 3 quarts of diesel with 1 quart of motor oil and spray that under the deck before mowing. I have a spray rig that puts out such a fine mist that I only used one gallon of that mixture in 4 years. Then when I finish mowing I either wash the bottom of the deck with the garden hose, or just blow it off with the air hose. It ain't perfect, but it's the best thing I've found so far. Good luck.

Re: Land Pride Mower (keeping underside clean?)

owalter,
I don't know that I have a good explanation, but I bought a "very used" Landpride AT 2560 and while it doesn't look so good, I do not have a problem at all with grass buildup. In fact, the under-side stays amazingly clean. I mow about 4 acres with it, and haven't had to mow wet (moist) grass with it since I've had it.

I'm curious about all of the other finish mower owners. Are they having the same problem?

Re: Land Pride Mower (keeping underside clean?)

I have a AT 2572. Mine does build up when the grass is damp to wet, cutting dry is no problem. I just use a spade to clean out after a wet mowing. My dad uses desil under his lawn mower with good results.
