Remote Hydraulics: Impact On Overall Hydraulics?

Do remote hydraulic valves and controls have an impact on the overall performance of the hydraulic system of a tractor? In other words, if I install front remote for a plow, hydraulic posthole digger, and grapple bucket - and also rear remote for a hydraulic thumb - will the power of the FEL and BH be affected? Forgive my mechanical ignorance, I'm new at this. Tony

Hello Tony…
You have not filled out your profile so I’m not sure what tractor you are using…

But on any hydraulic system your limitation is the pressure and volume of the pump… It will impact it to the extent that the other circuit ‘while being used’ will share the output of the pump.

You can see this by raising your 3point and loader at the same time. They will both raise slower together than they will separately. Hope this helps… KennyV.

By the way I ran one of my rear remote pairs up to the front loader for my grapple and 4n1… Works great.

KennyV, this is good to hear. So as long as I'm running only one hydraulic function at any particular time, it will get full hydraulic power? I'm getting an L48, with a loader capacity of something like 2500 lbs to full height, so when I add remote valves to the front and back, as long as I'm not using them the loader will still have that 2500 lb capacity? Again, forgive my ignorance...Thanks...Tony

The short answer: Absolutely no impact in the practical sense, if the remote controls are installed properly.

Now if one were to get theoretical one might say... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif but why get into it.

From the practical standpoint, I doubt you would be able to see any performance difference between a tractor with multiple remotes on it and one without.

(except maybe that you liked the tractor with the remotes on it better, when you used them)

Adding additional remote valves will not change your loader's lift capacity. Valve blocks are connected in series. If more than one valve is actuated simultaneously you will still be able to lift that weight but much more slowly.
