3pt scraper dump
I am looking for something to haul dirt and rock around the yard with and was looking at these 3 pt scraper / dumps that you can use both ways. I just can not justify a FEL at the moment and am looking for options. Does anyone have any advice regarding types to stay away from, features to look for or if I should even consider these?

Re: 3pt scraper dump
Marty
I have one of those scraper / trip buckets for the 3pt. They are sort of neat tools. Just realize that they take a whole lot longer to do a job than a FEL will & you'll look backward a lot. They don't have any down pressure since they are on the 3pt so if you're trying to dig sometimes you have to set the angle of the bucket pretty steep with your top link. I would suggest at least a hydraulic top link if you can afford that otherwise you spend a fair amount of time adjusting it for different things. The other limitation is that you can't really use them to smooth things out so you have to switch back & forth to a blade pretty regularly. Outside of their limitations they are a pretty cost effective way to move dirt around.

Marty, there is some good discussion about this topic under "dirt scoop" on page 7 of this forum. I too am considering one for the same reason as you.
