Coming home from work today on the interstate I saw a trailered Kubota L series tractor with some kind of attachment I couldn't identify. From the back, the first thing I saw was a vertical disk with teeth - looked like a big geer, but only a half inch thick or so. About 18" in diameter. Then up toward the front was another, smaller disk, no teeth. It was vertical too, but out to the side instead of to the back. I also noticed there was a hydraulic top link on the contraption. I don't know what it was, but it myst be real useful, because it was being pulled by a crew cab pickup full of workers.

Anybody have any idea what it was?

Agree with MJB. I saw the same thing at my dealer and thought it was some type of trenching device. It was a stump grinder. As an aside, the dealer was not impressed with it. There were visibility problems. The dealer had decided not to stock the implement.

If it's a stump grinder, what's the second wheel for? I've used a Vermeer self powered stump grinder and it only had one wheel.

Coudld it have been a hay rake with the rake wheels turned up? The wheels turn as you pass over the hay and rake it into nice neat rows for the bailer.

Just a guess

Could it be one of these concrete cutting wheels they use to create expansion slots on newly poured roads etc ?
