Considering buying a 6 ft Land Pride mower for a TC30 tractor. This looks to be a well made product but I wouldn't feel right about it until I checked it out with my board of advisors at TBN!

One of the first box frame Rear discharge finish mowers. It is a good selection.

I've had my 6' Land Pride finish mower for 3 years now. I'm very pleased with it. I wish I would have gotten the rear discharge model though. The side discharge is only a slight inconvenience. Still very happy with it.

I've had a rear discharge 6 ft Land Pride mower since 2001. It does a very good job. After mowing with the rear discharge mower the lawn looks like it was done with a mulching mower. The rear discharge mowers do not windrow the clippings like side discharge mowers do.
This is a great mower and you would be happy with it.

Thanks all for the feedback, so far you've confirmed my opinion, that it is a good unit. The one I'm looking to purchase is the rear discharge and I was wondering how that discharge would look when I finished the cut, but it sounds like its the way to go.

Thanks.

I also have a land Pride 6' rear discharge mower and really like it ! What series are you looking at? My mower is the 25 series. I've had mine for three years now ,so far no trouble. It is very well built. I mow four acres of lawn every week, most is a little rough(reclaimed field) the pneumatic tires absorb lots of shock, nice feature. The rear discharge is also nice to have. Rear mounted mowers are also easy to mount, and remove.I also hose mine off after every mowing(top and bottom)another nice feature off rear mowers.Good luck shopping!

Didn't think to get the series number. I expect to cut 4 acres also, how long does it take to finish cutting? I have some close trees and shrubs on half of the front but the rest only has an occasional tree to deal with and should be a simple up and down. What type of maintenance do you perform and how often?

The Land Pride FDR1672 I use with my 17 PTO HP 4110 does my 3 acre field in about three hours. That includes close trimming around a couple dozen trees and some slow and careful going when cutting the sides of the ditch.

As delivered the 1672 worked about 10 minutes before the swivel draft links fell off. I found the links but never recovered the missing bolts. Problem was the bolts were too short and the lock nuts did not have enough thread to lock to.

If I were to do it again I would spend the money for the substantially more robust FDR2572. In addition to thicker deck steel and larger square tubes it has a much better swivel link system.

That said it cuts great and spreads the clipping very evenly. I like it a lot more than the air tunnel side discharge I had before.

Thanks JClark, Thats the first I've heard of any problems, hopefully it was the exception to the rule. I will check on the model the dealer is offering but if it is I now know what to talk with him about.

It takes me about 2 1/2 hrs. with a good tail wind. I generally sharpen the blades after every 3rd. mowing. After picking the mower up with 3ph and blocking (for good measure) I use my impact wrench to remove blades. I then scrape the blades clean with a carbide scraper, then clamp in shopvise for hand filling. The blades are then balanced, and reinstalled. Gearbox oil,and tire pressures are checked occasionally. If possible when you mow, vary your mowing pattern . I vary mine 30deg. to as much 90deg. It is also a good idea to wear some sort of hearing protection.
