A friend of mine has an old implement that was pulled by an 18 hp Farmall. I'd have to convert it to a Cat 1 3pt for my JD 4010.

Anyone heard of/done this?

Ralph, if you can weld on some lower brackets to hold pins AND an upper bracket to mimic the top link, sure. It should not be that tough for someone with a welder/torch.

Just make it the same dimensions as typical 3PH stuff. It would likely NOT be able to go back on the farmal............

I assume it is an IHC Fast Hitch setup - the 2 prongs?

These are getting a little rare, collectors of IHC tractors are realizing they want to put something behind their newly restored tractors...

So, yes, you can cut off the prongs & convert the implement to 3pt.

You might wish to sell this implement at a premium, buy about the same thing cheaper already in 3pt, and save yourself some work...

If it was not a 2-point Fast Hitch implement, but something that was truely pulled around, that is a lot harder to convert sometimes, depending on what implement it is.

my dad has 11 old farmall c's super c's and b's,acouple of the supers have the 2 point, but he also has a converter to go to 3 point, all you need to do is go the other way,I also agree depending on what the implement is you might want to see about selling and buying regular 3 point.

I too have a 2PH to 3PH converter. I'd sure hate to see one of those old 2PH implements hacked up. Depending upon what it is, you can sell it for more than it cost new.
